It has all the usual Moorcroft markings on the base as shown and it has no chips, cracks or restoration obtained after leaving factory.

Moorcroft pottery is completely hand-made and hand-painted in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England and as such no two pieces are ever the same. They have very high quality standards and grade all their pieces into one of three categories – Best/First, Graded or Seconds. Their Best/First quality pieces have no discernible flaw. Graded pieces have such a slight imperfection that it is not felt significant enough to downgrade it to Seconds and as such the base is marked with a Gr. Seconds are signified by either a silver line or a red dot on the base. Please note we do not attempt to describe any perceived blemish that passed Moorcrofts’ own quality control standards.
